As an Australian living with a disability, you may require information and referrals to services outside the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) such as health and education. You may also need specialised supports, such as personal care and therapies. Are you able to access the services and supports you need?
Did you know that NDIS participants are allocated budgets for core supports, employment supports, and social/community supports?
Understanding what is available to you and navigating these services may not always be easy — this is where Philster Digital Concierge can help.
We help Australians living with disability to do more and live better.
You may be someone living with a psychosocial disability. You might be currently attending or have completed tertiary education, including TAFE. You may or may not be employed and could be accessing your NDIS funding either self-managed or plan-managed.
Our services include:
● research support
● disability support
● policy advice
● advocacy
We provide personalised information, advice, and consultation on accessing services such as Centrelink, the NDIS, and Medicare Australia, ensuring you are fully supported and informed, whatever your circumstances or stage of life.
Currently, there are approximately 700,000 individuals receiving the Disability Support Pension (DSP), which supports individuals with disabilities who are unable to work for more than two years.
The NDIS currently serves between 500,000 to 650,000 participants, with an estimated 900,000 expected by the end of 2030.
A high rate of DSP participants — up to 750,000 — are seeking part-time or full-time work.
However, there are challenges with accessing and navigating the NDIS:
● the NDIS system and available supports can be complex at times
● there may not be sufficient providers for selected services
● there may be cultural, language and other practical barriers to accessing these services for many including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
● those facing psychosocial disabilities may face additional barriers or challenges
It is understandable that some participants find it challenging to navigate the system and access the supports they need. With the right information and supports, informed participants can get the right providers to suit their requirements.
